About The Joint Usage/Research Center
The Tokyo Polytechnic University Wind Engineering Research Center has stimulated education research activities in the wind engineering field since its establishment in 2000 and has carried out collaborative investigations with domestic and foreign education research organizations in cooperation with industry-government-academia. These activities were adopted first as the 21st century COE program “Wind Effects on Buildings and Urban Environment” in 2003 and then as the Global COE program “New Frontier of Education and Research in Wind Engineering” in 2008, and is tied to today's educational programs. The Wind Engineering Research Center was adopted as the "Joint Usage/Research Center" by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), and will actively promote joint research by taking advantage of the research results and facilities available.
